Faridkot, 30 July 2025 : A meeting of the District Road Safety Committee and Safe School Vehicle Policy was held at Ashoka Chowk Hall under the leadership of Additional Deputy Commissioner Madam Harjot Kaur in Faridkot district. Officials from the Traffic Police, RTA Department, Education Department, and Health Department participated in the meeting.
On this occasion, ADC Harjot Kaur emphasized that strict enforcement should be carried out to ensure the general public follows traffic rules. She reviewed the status of actions being taken against unauthorized parking, over-speeding, overloaded vehicles, and discussed the safety of women in buses.
During the meeting, she directed the full implementation of the Safe School Vehicle Policy for the safety of school children and discussed regular health checkups of drivers. She stressed that compliance with traffic rules should be made mandatory in all schools of the district to avoid any risk to children’s lives.
She also gathered detailed information regarding road signage, lighting, black spots, stray animals, e-DAR, i-DAR, and cashless treatment facilities.
The meeting was also attended by SDM Jaito Mr. Suraj, District Education Officer (Elementary) Madam Anjana Council, EO Faridkot Mr. Amrit Lal, Dr. Surjit Singh Ball (Deputy Director, Animal Husbandry), and officials from various departments.
