1 May 2025 : Superstar Ajith Kumar, who was honoured with the prestigious Padma Bhushan award by the Government of India earlier this year, attended the grand investiture ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, on April 28.
Dressed impeccably in a sleek black suit, Ajith received the nation’s third-highest civilian award from the President of India, Droupadi Murmu. The moment was made even more special as his wife Shalini and their children were spotted proudly cheering for him, a heartwarming moment that quickly went viral across social media platforms.
Earlier, reacting to the honour, Ajith had issued a heartfelt statement expressing his gratitude. “It is a privilege to be recognised at such a level, and I am truly grateful for this generous acknowledgment of my contributions to our nation. This recognition is not merely a personal accolade but a testament to the collective support and inspiration I have received from my seniors, peers, and many others within the film industry,” the actor had shared.
2025 has been nothing short of remarkable for Ajith Kumar. On the cinematic front, both his recent releases — Vidaamuyarchi directed by Magizh Thirumeni, and Good Bad Ugly helmed by Adhik Ravichandran — garnered critical acclaim and enjoyed impressive box office success, reaffirming his unmatched star power.
Beyond cinema, Ajith’s passion for motorsport has also borne fruit this year. His racing team, Ajith Kumar Racing, secured third place in the 991 category and clinched the ‘Spirit of the Race’ title at the 24H Series held in Abu Dhabi in January. Continuing the momentum, his team recently achieved a second-place finish at the prestigious Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, marking another milestone in his racing journey.
