Chandigarh, December 24, 2024: Theenmar Mallanna, a Congress leader in Telangana, has filed a police complaint against Telugu superstar Allu Arjun, accusing his latest film Pushpa 2: The Rise of insulting the police force. The complaint, lodged at Medipalli police station, also names the film’s director Sukumar and producers.
The controversy revolves around a scene in the film where Allu Arjun’s character urinates in a swimming pool while a police officer is present. Mallanna has called the scene “disrespectful” and degrading to law enforcement officers, demanding action against the filmmakers.
This complaint comes after another incident linked to the film’s premiere in Hyderabad at the Sandhya Theatre on December 4. A stampede during the event tragically killed a woman and left her eight-year-old son critically injured. The police had denied permission for the event, yet Allu Arjun attended, leading to his arrest, though he was later released on bail.
The Telangana Police has now issued a notice for the actor to appear for questioning on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Meanwhile, the woman’s husband, Bhaskar, has suggested he may drop the case against Allu Arjun.
Summary: Allu Arjun faces controversy following a complaint from Congress leader Theenmar Mallanna, who accuses Pushpa 2 of insulting the police, and a previous incident involving a stampede at the film’s premiere.
