The Indian Army has announced that it will bear all educational expenses of 10-year-old Sarwan Singh, who provided food and water to soldiers during Operation Sindoor in a village in Punjab. Sarwan Singh significantly assisted the soldiers stationed in Tara Wali village by offering water, ice, tea, milk, and buttermilk while they were engaged in cross-border firing with the Pakistani Army in scorching heat. Moved by the child’s courage and dedication, the Golden Arrow Division of the Indian Army declared it would cover all costs related to Sarwan’s education.
Sarwan honored for his bravery
On Saturday, during a ceremony held at Ferozepur Cantonment, Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Command, honored Sarwan. He stated that Sarwan’s story is a tribute to the many “unsung heroes” across the country who deserve recognition and support.

Tara Wali village is located about 2 kilometers from the international border.
