Ban imposed in Batala on hooliganism, loudspeakers, and firecrackers from August 27–31

Batala, 28 Aug 2025 :  Dr. Harjinder Singh Bedi, Additional District Magistrate, Gurdaspur, exercising the powers vested in him under Section 163 of the Code of Civil Protection, 2023, has issued orders imposing a ban in Sub-Division Batala of District Gurdaspur from August 27, 2025, to August 31, 2025. During this period, no person will be allowed to indulge in hooliganism on tractors or other vehicles, play loudspeakers at high volume, or create firecracker sounds from bullet motorcycles.

The orders further state that in Sub-Division Batala of District Gurdaspur, the celebration of the marriage anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji will be held on August 30, 2025. It has generally been observed that during this fair some mischievous elements indulge in hooliganism on tractors and other vehicles, use loud and large speakers, and create firecracker-like noises from bullet motorcycles, which causes inconvenience to the public, especially elderly people and small children. Therefore, it has become necessary to impose a ban on such activities — hooliganism on tractors and other vehicles, use of loudspeakers at high volume, and bursting of crackers on bullet motorcycles — during this fair.

Summary :
The Additional District Magistrate has banned hooliganism with vehicles, loudspeaker use, and bursting firecrackers on bullet motorcycles in Batala Sub-Division from August 27 to 31, 2025.
