Basi Pathana Police Demolish Illegal Construction by Drug Trafficker

Basi Pathana, Fatehgarh Sahib, April 18 : Under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government has launched the ‘War on Drugs’ campaign to make the state drug-free. As part of this initiative, the Basi Pathana Police, under the direction of District Police Chief Shubham Agarwal, demolished an illegal construction made by a drug trafficker on government land in Ward No. 12.

On this occasion, SP (D) Rakesh Yadav informed that Amit Kumar, a drug trafficker residing in Ward No. 12 of Basi Pathana, has two registered cases under the NDPS Act and is still absconding. He added that the Punjab government is implementing a zero-tolerance policy against drugs and taking strict action against drug traffickers.

SP Yadav further stated that the Punjab government is working with determination to free the youth of the state from the grip of drugs, and drug traffickers who trap the youth in the drug trade will not be spared under any circumstances. He warned drug traffickers to quit selling drugs, or similar actions would be taken against them. He also emphasized that the “War on Drugs” campaign will continue uninterrupted.

He appealed to the public to report drug dealers to their nearest police station. He also urged that anyone who is caught in the drug trade should be brought to the government drug rehabilitation center, where the police will help them get rid of drugs and provide an opportunity to lead a better life in society.

Also present on the occasion were DSP Bassi Pathana Raj Kumar, Nagar Council Bassi Pathana Executive Officer Sukhdev Singh, and a large number of police personnel.
