Batala, October 28, 2025 : With the support of the Department of Youth Services, Gurdaspur, Bhai Ghaniya Youth Club, Satkoha, organized a street play and an anti-drug seminar.
On this occasion, club official and Shaheed-e-Azam S. Bhagat Singh State Youth Awardee Tej Pratap Singh Kahlo appealed to the youth to unite against drug abuse. He said that drugs not only destroy an individual’s life but also weaken the very roots of families and society. He emphasized that participation in sports, volunteer work, and social activities is the best way to lead a healthy life.
Madam Rekha, Buddy Program In-charge of Government Polytechnic College, Batala, said in her address that youth are the backbone of any nation. If they fall into the trap of drugs, the progress of the nation becomes impossible.
Sports Officer Jagdeep Singh stated that it is our greatest duty to launch drug-free campaigns in every village and street and to motivate the youth around us to stay on the right path.
Prominent social worker and youth leader Prof. Jasbir Singh, in his detailed address, said that the fight against drugs is not just the government’s responsibility but that of every citizen. He urged students to engage in educational, cultural, and social activities to keep their minds away from negative influences. He stressed that the eradication of drugs is only possible when parents, teachers, and society work together.
At the end of the seminar, the youth present took a pledge to build a drug-free Punjab and promised to stay away from drugs themselves while motivating others to do the same.
