Ludhiana, 14 May 2025: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said on Wednesday that the state government has made history by launching several people-friendly and development-oriented policies to put Punjab on the path of rapid economic growth.
Addressing the gathering after dedicating projects worth ₹13 crore to the public, the Chief Minister said these projects were initiated by ensuring accountability of the officials and contractors involved in their construction. He said these projects were designed keeping in mind the large public interest on one hand and the ongoing development of the state on the other. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that there is no shortage of funds for such development works, and more such projects will be dedicated to the public in the coming days.
Announcing the complete pollution-free initiative for Budha Nala, the Chief Minister said that the state government has already started work on this noble task. Referring to Gurbani — “Pavan Guru, Pani Pita, Mata Dharat Mahat” — he said the great Gurus regarded air as the Guru, water as the father, and earth as the mother. He added that the state government is following the footsteps of the great Sikh Gurus to reduce pollution and make the state clean, green, and pollution-free.
Taking an important step to empower the youth, the Chief Minister announced the establishment of eight UPSC coaching centers in Punjab, one of which will be opened in Ludhiana. He said each center will have a library, hostel, and other necessary facilities to provide quality training for competitive exams. Bhagwant Singh Mann emphasized that these centers will ensure that Punjab’s youth are well-prepared to excel in national-level examinations.
The Chief Minister said that democracy is of the people, by the people, and for the people, but nowadays there is a trend to suppress the voice of the opposition. Giving an example of a bouquet, Bhagwant Singh Mann said a bouquet contains many kinds of flowers that always attract people and people like to see them. Similarly, in democracy, every voice is important, which is why our government does not discriminate while distributing development funds to every city or village.
