Malerkotla, 5 Aug 2025 : Punjab Government’s unique wellness initiative, “CM di Yogshala,” is now not just a symbol of health but also of cultural awareness. During the ongoing 96 yoga classes in district Malerkotla, the festival of Teeyan was celebrated with great enthusiasm. Local women actively participated, sending out a message of wellness and connection with Punjabi heritage through yoga.
District Coordinator Malkit Kaur shared that “CM di Yogshala” has reached every corner of Punjab over the past two years, benefitting thousands. She mentioned that by linking the Teeyan festival with yoga, the initiative not only promotes health but also aims to reconnect the younger generation with their cultural roots.
Malkit Kaur emphasized that “Yoga is not just exercise but a way of life.” Through regular practice, people are finding relief from joint pain, back pain, obesity, stress, blood pressure, and diabetes. Students too are benefiting with improved concentration and better preparation for exams.
Yoga instructors Ramandeep Kaur, Balwant Kaur, Gulnar, Saminder Kaur, Manpreet Kaur, Rajvir, Lakhwinder Singh, Umair, Harjeet Singh, Jobanpreet Singh, Davinder Singh, Narinder Singh, and Parvinder Singh shared that they have been regularly conducting morning and evening village-level yoga classes. These sessions witness large participation from youth, women, elderly, and children, reflecting a growing trust and enthusiasm for yoga.
This remarkable campaign proves that when policies are right and intentions are strong, significant transformation in society can be brought about through health and awareness.
