Chandigarh 4 march 2025: Revenue officials across Punjab have announced a strike, causing work in the tehsils to come to a halt and creating significant difficulties for the general public. In the meantime, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has adopted a stern stance towards the tehsildars on strike and issued a warning.

CM Mann tweeted, “Tehsildars are on strike in support of their corrupt colleagues, but our government is firm against bribery. To alleviate the difficulties of the common people, other officials are being entrusted with the responsibility of handling all necessary work in the tehsils, so that the public’s work is not disrupted. Tehsildars are welcome to their collective leave… but after the leave, they will decide for themselves where they will join.”

It is noteworthy that recently, under the ongoing anti-corruption campaign, the Vigilance Department arrested a tehsildar. In protest against this arrest, Punjab’s revenue officials have announced a strike. The striking officials are demanding that the cases filed against Tehsildar Jagseer Singh, Registry Clerk Gopal Krishna, and other government employees be dismissed. Until this happens, their strike will continue.

Summary: CM Mann took a strict stance against tehsildars who went on strike, issuing a stern warning to ensure such actions are not repeated.
