Chandigarh 6 march 2025: An important update has come for the people of Punjab. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has issued a warning to vehicle drivers today. CM Bhagwant Mann inaugurated the City Surveillance-Traffic Management System and Traffic System in Mohali today. Now, like Chandigarh, CCTV cameras will be installed at various locations in Mohali, and e-challans will be issued. In fact, 351 CCTV cameras have been installed throughout Mohali district, and vehicle drivers who violate traffic rules will not be able to escape. All roads will be under police surveillance, and these cameras are equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI).

According to the information, like in Chandigarh, e-challans will be issued for traffic violators in Mohali as well, and the challan will include a photo of the violation. During this event, CM Mann mentioned that Mohali witnesses the highest number of accidents. People are not following traffic rules, and ensuring the safety of people’s lives is the responsibility of the Punjab government. It is worth noting that CM Mann inaugurated the City Surveillance System and Traffic Management System (Phase 1) in Mohali today, costing ₹21 crore.

CM Mann’s Warning to Vehicle Drivers: CM Mann further stated that after Chandigarh, Mohali sees the most accidents because people break traffic rules as soon as they leave Chandigarh. Therefore, cameras have been installed in Mohali following Chandigarh’s model, and 17 key points have been chosen where main traffic flows. People should not think that if a police officer is not stopping them, they can jump the red light, because now the lights are controlled by the police, and the challan will be sent to their home, along with the photo of the violation.

CM Mann on Drug Addiction: On this occasion, CM Mann mentioned that the Punjab government’s fight against drugs is ongoing. The person consuming drugs is not at fault; the focus is on cracking down on drug dealers. People are encouraged to report drug dealers, as sending drug addicts to jail will not solve the problem. Drug dealers will be dealt with strictly, and the Punjab government will provide employment to people addicted to drugs.
