Congress Questions AAP’s Sanjeev Arora Over Missing Funds

Ludhiana, 11 June 2025: Former Congress MLA Kushaldeep Singh Dhillon (Kikki Dhillon) exposed the false development claims of the AAP government, including its health and education model. He alleged that Rajya Sabha member and AAP candidate Sanjeev Arora spent only 43%—that is, ₹7.81 crore—out of the ₹18 crore released under the MP fund across the state. Out of this, Arora spent only ₹4.81 crore in Ludhiana over a span of three years. Despite making tall claims about development in the West constituency over the past one and a half years, Arora failed to fully utilize the government funds allocated to him as an MP over three years. Dhillon questioned how much development Arora could possibly bring to the West Assembly constituency if elected as an MLA for just 18 months.

Appealing to the people of the West constituency, Kikki Dhillon stated that if Sanjeev Arora is elected MLA, he will try to bring the same development model in the form of schools, hospitals, and roads. Taking a dig at AAP’s hoardings and advertisements labeling the Congress candidate as arrogant, he questioned how Sanjeev Arora could even express anger when, as a Rajya Sabha MP, he neither worked for public welfare nor engaged with the public before being declared a candidate.

He further pointed out that Arora never spoke against Punjab’s deteriorating law and order situation nor opposed the appointment of the Delhi-based chairman of the industry and trade board. Dhillon questioned how Arora would protect the interests of the West constituency as an MLA when he failed to do so as an MP.

Criticizing Arora’s performance, Dhillon stated that the very low disbursal of MP funds hindered development and insulted various institutions that received meager amounts. He said AAP’s development model can be judged from the grants issued by the Rajya Sabha member for development and public welfare—some of which include ₹13,636 for road repair (serial number 244 on the government website), ₹8,275 (serial number 256), ₹10,395 (serial number 257), ₹6,998 for hospital equipment (serial number 287), and ₹1,512 (serial number 296).

Dhillon concluded that this is Sanjeev Arora’s development model and vision, which the people of the West constituency need to seriously reconsider. Also present on the occasion were former MLA Dalbir Goldy, District President Khushbag Singh Jattana, Youth Congress Vice President Udayveer Singh Dhillon, Punjab spokesperson Amrita Gill, and other dignitaries.

Summary: Congress targets AAP candidate Sanjeev Arora, demanding answers about unaccounted funds, asking, “Where did the rest of the money go?”
