Fatehgarh Sahib, April 3, 2025: Under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government is running a special campaign, “War Against Drugs,” to eradicate drug abuse. As part of this initiative, the district administration is making extensive efforts. In this series of measures, the district administration has issued two helpline numbers, 01763-298022 and 85588-00599, where people can report information about drugs and drug traffickers to the police. The identity and details of informants will be kept confidential.
Sharing this information, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Sona Thind stated that, apart from these helpline numbers, if any drug addict or their family wishes to benefit from the Punjab government’s de-addiction, rehabilitation, or treatment initiatives, they can contact the helpline number 01763-298948.
The Deputy Commissioner further stated that a large-scale awareness campaign is being conducted under the “War Against Drugs” initiative. Eliminating drug abuse is one of the most urgent needs of the present time, as the way youth are falling into the grip of drugs is a serious concern. She emphasized that if we do not take action now to rescue the younger generation from drug addiction, we will have to face severe consequences. She urged all sections of society to support this campaign initiated by the Punjab government.
