Corona Surge in Chandigarh Sparks Panic; Stay Cautious

Chandigarh, 28 May 2025 : Along with Punjab, a new case of coronavirus has now been reported in Chandigarh as well. A 40-year-old person admitted to G.M.C.H.-32 hospital in the city has tested positive for the coronavirus. The patient had come from Punjab three days ago to the emergency department due to difficulty in breathing. When the patient’s condition did not improve, the doctors conducted a COVID test, which came back positive. Dr. Atre, the director of GMCH-32, stated that the patient has been placed in isolation.

The hospital administration has prepared a special 10-bed isolation unit keeping coronavirus in mind so that such cases can be managed in the future. Earlier, on 23 May, a 51-year-old woman from Yamunanagar, Haryana, tested positive in Mohali. She had come to Punjab to attend a religious event.

Be cautious beforehand
Experts have advised people not to panic, but to control coronavirus by taking some simple precautions. Experts say that due to the changing weather, the number of coronavirus patients in hospitals has increased, but every case is being thoroughly investigated. Doctors have warned people to remain alert and immediately seek medical attention if they experience symptoms like cough, fever, or sore throat. Avoiding crowded places and wearing masks have also been advised.
