Deputy Commissioner, District Election Officer meets recognized parties for election preparations

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar,19 Aug 2025 : Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Komal Mittal today held a meeting with all recognized parties of the district, during which she informed that as per the directions of the Election Commission of India, BLAs are to be appointed at every polling station. The BLA-1 proforma has to be filled by the President/Secretary of the party. In this proforma, the President/Secretary will appoint an authorized person at the district/constituency level to appoint BLAs.

The authorized person appointed in the BLA-1 proforma will then ensure filling and submission of the BLA-2 proforma, through which he will appoint BLAs at the booth level.

Representatives of all political parties were also briefed about the forms: Form No. 6 for new voter registration in the voter list, Form No. 6A to include overseas Indian voters (NRI), Form No. 7 to raise objections against or delete names in the voter list, Form No. 8 for corrections in voter details, to change address in the voter list due to shifting residence to another constituency, for change of address within the same constituency, and for duplicate voter ID cards. Those present in the meeting included Mr. Bahadur Singh Chahal (Aam Aadmi Party), Mr. Satnam Singh (Shiromani Akali Dal), Mr. Manjeet Singh (Shiromani Akali Dal), Mr. Ajaib Singh (Indian National Congress), Mr. Anil Kumar (Bharatiya Janata Party), Mr. Sanjay Kumar (Election Tehsildar), Mr. Surinder Kumar (Election Kanungo, Dera Bassi), and Mr. Raj Kumar (Clerk).
