Bathinda, 17 June 2025 : Under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin), the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, is conducting the Swachh Survekshan Gramin 2025, which will continue until July 19, 2025. This information was shared by Deputy Commissioner Mr. Shaukat Ahmed Pare while presiding over a meeting with officials from the Water Supply and Sanitation Department and the Panchayati Raj Department.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the officials to take the ongoing survey seriously so that the district could achieve a good ranking at both Punjab and national levels.
District Sanitation Officer Mr. Manpreet Singh Arshi stated that the survey has a total of 1000 points, of which 540 points will be awarded by a central government team after inspecting 20 villages in the district. He also mentioned that the designated teams will visit solid waste, liquid waste, plastic waste management units, and Gobardhan plants in the district, based on which points will be assigned. Additionally, villagers can share their feedback via a mobile app, which carries 50 points.
Also present on the occasion were Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Ms. Kanchan, District Development and Panchayat Officer Mr. Gurpratap Singh, Executive Engineer Mr. Amit Kumar, all BDOs, Sub-Divisional Engineers, Junior Engineers, and representatives from various departments.
