Diljit Dosanjh Quashes ‘Border 2’ Exit Rumors with BTS Set Video

3 July 2025  : Several rumours had been circulating that Diljit Dosanjh would be replaced in Border 2 due to controversy surrounding his film Sardaar Ji 3, which also stars Pakistani actor Hania Aamir. However, Diljit has shut down these claims by sharing a behind-the-scenes video of himself shooting for the war film.

Diljit Dosanjh sets the record straight

On Wednesday, Diljit shared a video on Instagram, putting speculation to rest and confirming his continued involvement in the project.

The video shared by Diljit gives a glimpse into his day on the sets of Border 2. It begins with him stepping out of his vanity van, dressed in his uniform, and then walking into the set as he prepares for a dance sequence. The clip also shows Diljit rehearsing and going through the scene. He is then seen dancing with them. The title track of Border, titled, Ke Ghar Kab Aaoge, can also be heard playing.

Sharing the video, Diljit wrote, “BORDER 2”.

The comment section of Diljit’s post was flooded with supportive messages from fans and well-wishers, rallying behind him. Producer Guneet Monga dropped heart emoji, with one social media user writing, “@diljitdosanjh on top always”. “Still on top,” wrote on top.

Diljit in controversy

Over the last few days, Diljit has been facing flak for his latest film Sardaar Ji 3 over the casting of Pakistani actor Hania Aamir. The film opened overseas on June 27. It didn’t release in India. The stir comes in the wake of the recent Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, followed by India’s Operation Sindoor on May 7, in which air strikes were carried out on terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

The Border 2 rumours

Following the reports, there have been calls to replace Diljit from Border 2. Some reports emerged saying that the makers of Border 2 are likely to drop Diljit from the film and that he would be replaced by actor-singer Ammy Virk.

However, a source close to the production told Hindustan Times, “There is no plan to replace or remove Diljit from Border 2. His casting was confirmed nearly nine months ago, long before the recent unfortunate incidents. Nearly half the film has already been shot, and any replacement at this stage would be logistically unfeasible”.

Border 2 is the upcoming sequel to the 1997 blockbuster Border. The film is directed by Anurag Singh. Diljit had joined the project in September last year and will feature alongside Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty.

Summary:
Diljit Dosanjh dispelled replacement rumors amid the Sardaar Ji 3 controversy by sharing a behind‑the‑scenes clip from the Border 2 set—confirming he’s still part of the project.
