Diljit Dosanjh’s ‘Panjab ’95’ Not Releasing in India, Set for Overseas Premiere

Chandigarh, January 20, 2025 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau): Global star Diljit Dosanjh’s fans have received a big shock. It has been confirmed that the actor’s film Panjab ’95 will not be released in India. Diljit’s team has confirmed that the film will release outside of India. The film will be released abroad without any cuts. It is set to release on February 7.

While sharing the teaser, Punjabi singer and actor Diljit wrote on Twitter, “The entire film, no cuts.” The teaser begins with Arjun Rampal’s character, who says in his powerful voice, “Look at the history of Punjab, sir. Whether it’s the River Water Dispute, Operation Blue Star, the assassination of Indira Gandhi, or the 1984 riots, from Presidential rule to the killing of Chief Ministers, and now… what price is Punjab paying?”

The teaser then shows people disappearing one after another from Punjab. Diljit is seen portraying human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, who is investigating the disappearance of Sukhdev Singh.

It is important to note that Diljit Dosanjh’s film Panjab ’95 is based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. Diljit had earlier shared a picture of the film with the caption, “I challenge the darkness,” referring to Khalra’s powerful fight for justice.
