District Language Office Engages Youth Through Arts and Literature

Fazilka, April 15 :  Under the leadership of District Language Officer Bhupinder Utreja, and with the support of the District Language Office Fazilka, a book release and discussion event was organized for two Punjabi books by renowned regional writer and retired Principal Ashwani Ahuja — “Kismat Mutthi ‘Ch” and “Saflata Da Sanvidhan”. The event was graced by Fazilka MLA Mr. Narinder Pal Sawna and Mrs. Khushboo Sawansukha, President of Khushi Foundation, as chief guests.

MLA Mr. Narinder Pal Singh Sawna stated that Ashwani Ahuja’s books serve as a guiding light and source of inspiration for the younger generation. Mrs. Khushboo Sawansukha remarked that activities related to literature and art contribute to the holistic development of youth. She congratulated Mr. Ahuja and his family on the public launch of his books.

District Language Officer Bhupinder Utreja welcomed the guests and shared that the District Language Office, Fazilka, continually undertakes various initiatives to connect children and youth with literature, art, and books. Renowned local authors Principal Gurmeet Singh and Dr. Gurraj Singh Chahal, former Head of the Punjabi Department at D.A.V. College, Abohar, participated in the discussion on the two books. They shared that Ashwani Ahuja’s books are Punjabi translations of his best-selling English book “Let’s Write Our Destiny”, published in two parts by Saptarishi Publications, Chandigarh. The translation was done by acclaimed Punjabi author Mrs. Harvinder Kaur Dhingra from Barnala. These books are a treasure trove of quality and experience.

The event saw special participation from Deputy District Officer Parvinder Singh, Dr. Navdeep Jasooja (President of Arya Samaj), Principal Sangeeta Tinna, Chairman Raman Watts, Mrs. Madhu Sharma, Principal Rajan Grover, Jalesh Thathai (Executive President, Press Club), Ammit Sachdeva (Editor, Dainik Ammit Bela), and others.

The stage was hosted by teachers Surinder Kamboj and Neetu Arora. After the book discussion, local poets and singers presented literary and musical performances. Participants included Palakdeep Kaur, Shivam Ahuja, Raman Jhamb, Gurmeet Singh, Mehak Sharma, Advocate Ravinder Singh Gill, Rahul Saluja, Harpreet Dhamiija, Arpit Watts, Divya Sharma, Anmol, Saurav Babbar, Sandeep Jain, Harshpreet Boparai, Sabia, Meena Sharma, and others, who captivated the audience with their poems and songs.

Prominent individuals in attendance included Mrs. Pooja Luthra, Parminder Singh (Research Officer), musician Manjinder Taneja, Dr. Vijay Parveen, Navdeep Asija (Advisor, Punjab Traffic Department), Nisha Sharma, Ritesh Kukkar, Prof. Manjit Singh, Prof. Amit Popli, Gurmeet Singh, Kanwal Kishore Grover, Subhash Arora, R.L. Setia, Engineer Babu Lal Arora, Satpal Bhusri (Retired Tehsildar), Mohinder Tripathi (Tehsildar), Paramjit Khera, Shashi Kant, Bharat Bhushan Aggarwal, Om Prakash Sachdeva, Neelam Sachdeva, Advocate Alok Tripathi, Bank Manager Ravinder Rangbulla, Jai Lal, Dr. Roshan Lal Thakkar, Pankaj Dhamija, Sandeep Aneja, Vijay Gupta, Sanjeev Marshall, Naresh Mittal, Satish Sachdeva, Dr. Ajay Grover, Sunil Sethi, Ritesh Kukkar, Sukhwinder Shah, Parvesh Wadhra, Dr. Anil Pathak, Vipin Kataria, Ashwani Grover, Trilok Bidani, Jai Lal Kamboj, Rajinder Kataria, Nirmal Khanna, and many other prominent city figures.

Author Ashwani Ahuja also shared insights about his book. At the end of the program, guests and participants were honored for their contributions.

Summary: The District Language Office, in collaboration with Arts and Books, is actively working to connect the younger generation through cultural and literary initiatives.
