Rupnagar,20 June 2025: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, a grand celebration will be held tomorrow, June 21, under the initiative “CM di Yogshala”. Deputy Commissioner Mr. Varjit Walia informed that the district-level event will take place at Government College, Rupnagar, at 7 AM, where a large number of students, citizens, and yoga enthusiasts are expected to participate.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that under the Punjab Government’s “CM di Yogshala” scheme, trained yoga instructors are already conducting yoga classes at 115 locations across the Rupnagar district, which include:
- 60 classes in Rupnagar
- 10 in Nurpurbedi
- 9 in Sri Anandpur Sahib
- 5 in Nangal
- 6 in Kiratpur Sahib
- 12 in Sri Chamkaur Sahib
- 11 in Morinda
SDM Rupnagar Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, during his inspection of the arrangements at Government College Rupnagar, assigned duties to various departments and instructed all officials to perform their responsibilities with full dedication.
He directed the Nodal Department – District Ayurvedic and Unani Officer to finalize all preparations and to seek assistance from other departments as needed. He also reviewed arrangements for drinking water, tents, sound system, backdrop, and floor mats.
Dr. Sanjeev Kumar appealed to not just school and college students, but also various organizations and the general public to actively participate in this district-level yoga event.
Present on the occasion were District Public Relations Officer Mr. Karan Mehta, DSP S. Gurmeet Singh, and other senior officials.
