Hoshiarpur, 11 Sep 2025 : The District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Ashika Jain, using powers under Section 163 of the Indian Citizenship Security Code, 2023, has issued orders for various restrictions in the district.
Key Orders Issued:
- Restrictions on Pregabalin Capsules:
- Keeping Pregabalin capsules without a license, possessing/selling beyond the approved quantity, or selling without a doctor’s prescription is strictly prohibited.
- Legal action will be taken against any violation of these orders.
- Prohibition on Weapons in Public and Social Gatherings:
- No individual is allowed to carry weapons in public gatherings, religious places, wedding parties/functions, marriage palaces, or other events.
- Displaying weapons publicly or on social media is strictly prohibited.
- Playing songs that promote weapons or violence is also banned.
- Marriage palace owners must ensure that no weapons are used during functions.
- Violations will lead to legal action.
- Village Night Patrols:
- All village sarpanches are instructed to organize proper night patrols to prevent any untoward incidents by antisocial elements.
- Ban on Illegal Hookah Bars:
- Operating illegal hookah bars is prohibited, as these use tobacco, cigarettes, and harmful chemicals affecting human health and creating a negative social impact.
- Ban on Unauthorized Semen Handling:
- Unauthorized storage, transportation, use, or sale of bovine semen is prohibited.
- This restriction does not apply to:
- Veterinary institutions under the Animal Husbandry Department
- Animal hospitals/dispensaries and polyclinics
- Punjab Animal Husbandry Department
- Milkfed and College of Veterinary Science, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana
- Artificial insemination centers authorized by Punjab Animal Husbandry Department
- Members of Progressive Dairy Farms Association, Punjab, who have imported bovine semen for use only with their animals.
All these orders will remain in force until 7 November 2025.
