Barnala, 24 June 2025: Under the Swachh Bharat Mission, a cleanliness survey of villages in the district will be conducted, for which a central team has selected 20 villages from Barnala district where the Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2025 will take place in the coming days.
This announcement was made by Deputy Commissioner Shri T. Banith, while addressing a meeting on Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2025 at the District Administrative Complex. He informed that the central team will visit the selected villages and evaluate them on various parameters such as plastic waste management, disposal of wet and dry waste, cleanliness of public places, implementation of Thapar Model, Anganwadi centres, and schools.
He emphasized that awareness should be created among residents so they can provide their feedback through the Citizen Feedback App.

Residents can submit feedback using their mobile number and OTP, and highlight the sanitation-related efforts done in their villages.
He also shared the list of selected villages: Dhurkot, Gurma, Hamidi, Pakhoke Kalan, Rureke Kalan, Thikriwala, Kothe Ramsar, Amla Singh Wala, Kalal Majra, Kurad, Mehal Khurd, Wazidke Kalan, Bakhtgarh, Cheema, Jangiana, Shaina, Sandhu Kalan, Bhagatpura, Dhilwan Dakha, and Kothe Khiyo Singh.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to all district residents to keep common areas in their villages clean so that their village can earn a top ranking.
Also present on the occasion were District Development and Panchayat Officer Amrinderpal Singh, BDPO Sukhwinder Singh, BDPO Jagraj Singh, District Education Officer Suneet Inder Singh, Deputy DEOs Barjinder Singh and Madam Neerja, Rajeev Kumar from the Water Supply Department, and other officers and staff.
