DM Bans Weapons and Firing at Marriage Palaces for Public Safety

Moga,  11 July 2025 : District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner of Moga, Mr. Sagar Setia, has imposed a complete ban on carrying weapons and firing in marriage palaces across the district. This order has been issued under the powers granted by the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita-2023 (46 of 2023), Chapter-11 (C—Urgent of Nuisance or Apprehended Danger), Section 163.

Mr. Sagar Setia stated that a significant number of marriage palaces operate in Moga. During functions held in these venues, it has become a sort of fashion for individuals to carry weapons and perform celebratory firing, which often leads to the possibility of unpleasant or dangerous incidents.

To prevent such occurrences, a ban has been placed on carrying weapons and performing celebratory firing inside marriage palaces in the district.

This prohibition order will remain in effect until September 10, 2025.
