Dr. Chandar Shekhar Reports 1429 Free Dialysis Cases at Fazilka and Abohar Civil Hospitals

Fazilka, 28 April 2025 : Dr. Chandar Shekhar Kakkar, the Civil Surgeon, shared that three dialysis units were established at the Civil Hospital Fazilka with the help of the Hans Foundation in September 2024. To date, dialysis has been provided for 719 kidney patients. People from Fazilka district and nearby areas are benefiting from this service. Additionally, the Civil Hospital Abohar has completed 710 free dialysis cases in one year.

Dr. Kakkar mentioned that one machine is functioning in Abohar. He highlighted that dialysis in private hospitals costs between 2,000 to 3,000 rupees, which is unaffordable for poor and common people. The dialysis units operate from 9 AM to 5 PM. Dr. Lhimbir Ram urged social organizations, the media, and the public to spread awareness about this facility so that more dialysis patients can benefit.

During this time, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Rohit Goel, Dr. Kavita Singh (District Family Welfare Officer), Devish Kumar (District Mass Media Officer), and Rohit Steno were present.
