Faridkot, May 2, 2025: District Magistrate of Faridkot, Madam Poonamdeep Kaur (IAS), exercising the powers under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023, has imposed a complete ban on the use of drones or any other flying objects within the boundaries of District Faridkot.
She stated that recently there was an attempt to smuggle weapons using a drone in Tarn Taran district. Therefore, she said, mischievous elements could use drones to disrupt peace and law and order. To ensure the safety of public life and property, orders have been issued to ban the use of drones.
She further said that if anyone wishes to use drones for weddings or other religious and cultural events, they must obtain prior permission from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner. If any person is found using a drone without prior approval, legal action will be taken against them. This order will remain in effect until June 18, 2025.
