Eat these 5 things in winter to stay warm and keep the cold away

Delhi, December 23, 2024 : Dr. Ganesh Meena, a senior physician at Karauli General Hospital, advises people to consume these five things during the winter season to protect themselves from the cold and seasonal illnesses.

Peanuts provide the most energy and contain various nutrients similar to those found in almonds. Consuming peanuts in winter not only boosts energy but also helps alleviate gas and acidity issues.

It is recommended to regularly consume local jaggery during this season, as it is highly beneficial for health. Jaggery provides direct energy to the body and is also rich in iron.

Winter brings an abundance of fresh green vegetables, which are packed with vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Mustard greens, fenugreek, bathua, and spinach should especially be consumed during the cold season to provide essential nutrition to the body.

Sesame seeds have a warming effect. During winter, you can consume various sesame-based products according to your preference. However, patients with high blood pressure and diabetes should consume sesame only after consulting their doctor.

Warm milk and hot water are essential during the winter months. Drinking milk daily provides energy along with proteins, sugars, fats, and a variety of vitamins. Additionally, consuming warm water helps cleanse the body’s internal systems, providing extra energy.

Summary: Dr. Ganesh Meena recommends consuming peanuts, jaggery, green vegetables, sesame, and warm milk or water in winter to boost energy and protect against seasonal illnesses.
