Chandigarh, January 13, 2025: To avail the government’s Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme benefits, it is mandatory for employees who are members of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) to activate their Universal Account Number (UAN) and link Aadhaar with their bank account. There are only 3 days left for EPFO members, especially new employees. If you have recently started working in a company, make sure to activate your UAN number by January 15. Additionally, linking your Aadhaar with your bank account is also necessary.
Let me inform you that EPFO has extended the deadline for activating UAN and linking the bank account with Aadhaar to January 15, 2025. Initially, the last date for activating UAN was set to November 30, 2024, which was later extended to December 15, 2024.
What is the ELI Scheme?
Let me inform you that the government announced the ELI scheme in the 2024 budget. This scheme includes three types of plans: A, B, and C. The goal of all three plans is to encourage job creation and provide financial assistance to new employees.
How to activate UAN number?
To activate your UAN number, follow these steps:
- First, go to the EPFO website at epfindia.gov.in.
- Now, click on “For Employees” under the Services section on the left side.
- In the Services column, click on “Member UAN Online Service (OCS/OTCP)” which is the second option.
- After that, click on “Activate UAN.”
- Enter your 12-digit UAN, Aadhaar number, name, date of birth, mobile number linked with Aadhaar, CAPTCHA code, etc.
- Next, click on the checkbox for the declaration. Then click on the “Get Authorization Pin” button.
- Enter the OTP and click the “Submit” button.
- Your UAN will now be activated.
