EPFO e‑Passbook Down? Here’s How to Check Your PF Balance Now

23 June 2025 : Are you facing difficulty in checking your Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) balance on the EPF passbook website? The portal is currently down again. But don’t worry — the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) offers alternative ways to check your balance easily. Even without internet access or facing technical issues, you can still check your PF balance instantly via missed call or SMS services.

Why can’t you log in to the EPF passbook website?

You can usually check your provident fund (PF) balance by logging in at passbook.epfindia.gov.in. However, users may sometimes face difficulties in accessing the portal. These issues are often caused by server overload due to high traffic, scheduled maintenance, technical upgrades, or login errors like entering the wrong Universal Account Number (UAN), incorrect password, or using an unregistered mobile number. Currently, EPFO’s website is down, so users are unable to log in.

How to check your PF balance via missed call:

You can check your PF balance using EPFO’s missed call service — a free and easy method. Here’s how:

  1. Call 9966044425 from your registered mobile number.
  2. The call will disconnect automatically after two rings (no cost involved).
  3. You will receive an SMS with your latest PF balance and last contribution details.

Let me know if you’d like the English version of the SMS method too.

Summary: If the EPF e‑passbook portal is unavailable, use these alternatives: missed call, SMS, UMANG app, or apps like INDmoney.
