Sri Muktsar Sahib, January 30: On the occasion of the Martyrdom Day of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, a two-minute silence was observed today at the District Administrative Complex, Sri Muktsar Sahib, in memory of the great martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country. The great sacrifices of those who laid down their lives for the nation were remembered.
On this occasion, Shri Rajesh Tripathi, Deputy Commissioner, Sri Muktsar Sahib, said that martyrs are the assets of any nation, and they remain a source of inspiration for future generations. He emphasized that we must draw inspiration from our martyrs and work with full honesty and dedication for the progress of our country, so that our nation continues to progress rapidly and can be recognized as a prosperous country on the world map. He further stated that every citizen of the country should contribute their significant role in the progress of the nation.
On this occasion, in addition to others, Shri Gurpreet Singh Thind, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mrs. Baljeet Kaur, SDM, Shri Puneet Sharma, Chief Minister’s Regional Officer, family members of freedom fighters, and officers and staff working at the Deputy Commissioner’s office complex were present.
On this occasion, the Punjab Police band played a mournful tune and reversed their weapons as a tribute to the great martyrs of the nation.
