Ferozepur/Makhu, 14 Aug 2025: To deal with potential flood-like situations during the monsoon season, Deputy Commissioner of Ferozepur, Deepshikha Sharma, and Deputy Commissioner of Tarn Taran, Mr. Rahul, jointly visited Harike Head Works to review the water level. During the visit, they interacted with officials on-site to assess the water situation and also reviewed preparations in nearby villages regarding possible floods.
Deputy Commissioner of Ferozepur, Deepshikha Sharma, stated that the situation in Ferozepur is currently completely normal, and there is no threat of floods. She mentioned that, along with the concerned department officials, continuous visits are being made to villages along the Sutlej River to monitor the situation closely. She appealed to residents of nearby villages not to believe in any rumors or panic. She added that for any information or updates regarding floods, people can contact the control room numbers set up at the district and tehsil levels.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner of Tarn Taran, Mr. Rahul, said that there has been no loss of life or property in Tarn Taran. However, in villages where rising water levels have created flood-like conditions, the administration and government are in constant touch with the residents and providing full assistance. He assured that the district administration is fully alert and committed to tackling any situation and extending help to the people.
Present during the visit were SDM Zira Gurmeet Singh, Ms. Lindia, IAS (Under Training), along with officials from various departments.
