Gurdaspur, 24 Sep 2025 : The Chief Election Officer, Punjab, has directed that their social media platforms — Facebook, X, Instagram, and YouTube — be followed extensively so that the general public can receive timely updates on the guidelines and activities issued by the Election Commission.
Additionally, the Additional District Election Officer-cum-Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Gurdaspur, Dr. Harjinder Singh Bedi, has instructed all district-level Voter Registration Officers to ensure that their subordinate Assistant SVEEP Nodal Officers, BLO Supervisors, and BLOs follow these social media platforms. Confirmation of compliance must be obtained from all BLO Supervisors through an undertaking, and a certificate, signed by the concerned officers, must be submitted to the District Election Office by 10:00 AM on September 29, 2025.
Furthermore, the District Education Officer (SE:SI:), Gurdaspur-cum-District SVEEP Nodal Officer, has been directed to raise awareness among students in schools and colleges where Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELCs) have been established, encouraging them to increase followers on these social media platforms.
The Additional District Election Officer has also appealed to all residents of the district to follow the Chief Election Officer, Punjab, on these social media platforms so that they receive timely information about the credible guidelines and activities issued by the Election Commission.
