Chandigarh March 3 : A case of disrespect towards Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji by a Granthi Singh at the Sheesh Mahal of Gurudwara Nanaksar in Jagraon has been brought to light by the Respect Committee. As a result, a complaint regarding this incident has also been filed at the City Police Station in Jagraon. The Respect Committee has warned that if action is not taken soon, the Singhs from the committee will take matters into their own hands with the police.
In a video released by the Respect Committee, it is clearly seen that in the Sheesh Mahal of the Gurudwara, a person has fallen on top of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji while in its presence. It is unclear whether the person fell due to intoxication or because they were asleep. There are also claims that this person vomited on Guru Sahib and showed disrespect by placing their feet towards the Manji Sahib and falling in a disrespectful manner.
Attempts were made to contact Baba Satnam Singh of Sheesh Mahal regarding this matter, but no connection could be established. In this regard, the Respect Committee and the Singhs of Ek Noor Khalsa have filed a complaint with SHO Amardeep Singh of City Police Station Jagraon. The police have assured that they will conduct an investigation and take appropriate action soon.
