Great! The road being constructed at a cost of ₹3.74 crore will benefit the surrounding village

Fatehgarh Sahib, September 10

Thanks to the efforts of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the condition of roads across the state is being improved. Along with the renovation of many roads in the Fatehgarh Sahib constituency, a large number of roads have also been widened to 18 feet. MLA from the constituency, Advocate Lakhbir Singh Rai, expressed these views while laying the foundation stone for the 4.10-kilometre-long, 18-foot-wide road to be constructed from Block Khera to Narayangarh.

MLA Lakhbir Singh Rai said that the construction of this road from Block Khera would provide major relief to dozens of villages and would also benefit devotees visiting during the Shaheedi Jor Mela. He said the road would be constructed at a cost of ₹3.74 crore, while ₹19.30 lakh has been allocated for its maintenance for a period of five years.

The construction of this road will benefit people travelling to Khera, Narayangarh, Diwali, Kheri Bhaiki and Gurdwara Hansali Sahib, as well as devotees visiting Bara Rozha Sharif. Devotees from dozens of villages travelling to Fatehgarh Sahib for the Shaheedi Jor Mela also use this route, and the road will make their journey easier.

He further said that the Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been withholding ₹10 crore under the Rural Development Fund (RDF) for a long time and is treating Punjab with a stepmotherly attitude. He said that when the time comes, the people of Punjab themselves will hold the government accountable.

On this occasion, the village sarpanches honoured MLA Lakhbir Singh Rai and the other dignitaries who attended the event.

Among those present were Baljinder Singh (Sarpanch), Gurbhagat Singh, Inderjit Singh (Sarpanch, Baras), Amarjit Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Teji Baras, Rupinder Narayangarh, Manpreet (Sarpanch, Dholan), Karamjit Singh Happy Bhaini, Harmesh Punnia, Amarinder Mandofal, Surmukh Singh Jhampur, Harwinder Singh Balara, Vikram Vicky (Block Samiti Member), Amarjit Dubhali, and others.
