30 July 2025 : The monsoon has once again gained momentum in Punjab. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in several districts today, with the possibility of continued rain over the next three days. In the past 24 hours, the state’s average temperature has dropped by 1.7 degrees, which is 3.8 degrees below normal.
According to the department, light to moderate rainfall is expected in 50–75% areas of Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, and Rupnagar districts, while heavy rainfall is likely in Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Nawanshahr, Bathinda, Muktsar, Fazilka, Mansa, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Mohali, Sangrur, and Patiala. Additionally, some areas of Ferozepur, Moga, Faridkot, Amritsar, and Tarn Taran may also experience light to moderate rain.
It is noteworthy that so far, the highest temperature has been recorded in Bathinda at 38°C, while Patiala has received the highest rainfall at 32.4 mm.
