Important update for Punjab government bus passengers – take note immediately

Chandigarh October 23, 2025  : Important news for women traveling on bus services linked with Aadhaar in Punjab. The Punjab Roadways, PRTC, and Panbus Contract Workers Union have begun preparations to block buses over their pending demands.

The union has warned that if the government does not address their demands promptly, protests will be held at all bus depots across the state in the coming days. Resham Singh, the state president of the union, said the government has been continuously ignoring their demands. If the government still does not take any concrete steps, bus services in Punjab could come to a complete halt.

Protest at Sherpur Chowk Today
Today, the Panbus/PRTC Contract Workers Union will hold a dharna (sit-in protest) at Sherpur Chowk on the Main Highway Road from 12 PM, opposing the opening of tenders for kilometer buses scheduled on 25/11. Union leader Shamsher Singh said that through this protest, they aim to raise their voice before the public, as the government has turned a blind eye to their issues. If the government does not find a solution soon, the union has clearly warned that buses could be completely removed from roads across the state, causing significant inconvenience to passengers.

Summary:
Passengers traveling on government buses in Punjab are advised to note an important update regarding services, schedules, or rules, ensuring smooth and informed travel across the state.
