Jalandhar, November 21, 2025: Keeping in view the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Additional District Magistrate Amaninder Kaur Brar has issued new orders regarding noise pollution in the district. As per these guidelines, issued under the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000 and Section 163 of the Indian Civil Protection Code 2023, the sound level of loudspeakers at all marriage palaces, religious places, and public venues within the district limits must not exceed 10 decibels.
The ADM has also ordered a complete ban on the use of pressure horns in buses, cars, motorcycles, and all types of vehicles. Additionally, prior permission will be mandatory for using loudspeakers in marriage palaces or public places. Even after obtaining permission, loudspeakers can be used only between 6 AM and 10 PM.
These orders will remain in effect from 23 November 2025 to 22 January 2026. The district administration has appealed to all concerned institutions and citizens to strictly follow these guidelines.
