Jalandhar/Chandigarh, 25 June 2025 : After winning the by-election for the Ludhiana West Assembly seat, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is soon going to hold a meeting with Aam Aadmi Party’s National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal. At the moment, the hearts of all cabinet ministers are beating faster, as it is uncertain whose department will remain and whose will be reassigned. One thing is certain — Sanjeev Arora is set to enter the cabinet.
There is ongoing discussion that Sanjeev Arora may be given a significant urban-related portfolio by Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann. Since Arora will also be vacating his Rajya Sabha seat, both Kejriwal and Mann are expected to back him, making it likely he will receive an important department.
The timing of the Punjab Cabinet reshuffle will be decided by Arvind Kejriwal. Since he is no longer handling the responsibilities of Delhi’s Chief Minister, he now has more time to focus on Punjab. For the Aam Aadmi Party, retaining Punjab has become a top priority. Kejriwal’s presence is also expected to keep ministers in check, creating a psychological pressure to perform. It is being said that Kejriwal’s sole agenda now is to win Punjab again. To achieve this, AAP’s central leadership will increasingly be deployed in the state. Even during the recent by-election, central leaders of the party were actively involved. Delhi’s former minister Atishi also campaigned in the by-election. Therefore, the Aam Aadmi Party now has a full campaign force ready to be deployed in Punjab.
