Mann Government Cracks Down: Revenue Staff and Police Officials Face Suspension

Chandigarh 29 July 2025: The Mann government in Punjab continues its strong campaign against corruption. As part of this effort, Punjab Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar has taken strict action following complaints of corruption and negligence. A show-cause notice has been issued to the Deputy Transport Commissioner. In addition, the services of 9 data entry operators and security guards have been terminated with immediate effect.

A senior assistant has also been suspended on charges of corruption. Furthermore, senior assistant Pawan Kumar, working at the head office, has been suspended from duty for negligence.

The suspended employees include:
Omkar Singh (Data Entry Operator),
Gursahib Singh, Harpreet Singh, Gurpreet Singh Bedi, Parminder Singh, Vijay Gurung, Vikramjit Singh, Sanjeev Kumar, and Ajay Kumar (all Security Guards).

Summary :
Punjab CM Mann enforced corruption zero-tolerance: suspended 14–15 tehsildars striking over vigilance probes; dismissed 52 police officers in a major anti-corruption sweep.
