Bamiyal/Pathankot, April 11, 2025 : While the Punjab Government is making strict efforts to eliminate drugs from the state, it is also tightening the noose around officers and employees who show negligence in their duties at government offices. A similar case has emerged from the border block Narot Jaimal Singh, where Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO) of the Panchayat Department, Dilbagh Singh, has been suspended for negligence and absenteeism.
According to received information, on February 4, complaints against the BDPO were investigated by Pathankot Deputy Commissioner Aditya Uppal. The inquiry confirmed that Dilbagh Singh was not attending the office regularly and there were irregularities in the distribution of panchayat grants. The investigation report was submitted to senior officials of the department, based on which the BDPO was suspended with immediate effect under the directions of Panchayat Minister Shri Lal Chand Kataruchak.
Cabinet Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak stated that the Punjab Government will not tolerate any corruption or negligence in duty. All officers and employees have been instructed to reach their offices on time and serve the public with complete honesty.
