Batala, 28 July 2025 : Punjab’s Working President and MLA Amansher Singh Sherry Kalsi participated in the ‘Drug-Free Journey’ (Nasha Mukti Yatra) under the ‘War Against Drugs’ campaign in Ward No. 43, where he addressed a powerful public awareness rally. During the event, he administered a collective oath to all participants — men, women, youth, and children — urging them to keep the city drug-free.
Also present on the occasion were Amrit Kalsi, Chairman Manik Mehta, senior leader Master Tilak Raj, Subhash Mehta, Smt. Sunita Rani, Ravneesh Mehta, Vijay Mehta, Amit Sodhi, Sandhu Bhatti, and local residents of the ward.
While addressing the gathering, MLA Sherry Kalsi stated that previous governments failed to take any meaningful action against drug abuse. However, under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, a strategic and determined battle against drugs has been launched. The overwhelming voluntary participation in the ‘Nasha Mukti Yatras’ reflects the strength of this movement, aiming to free the soul of vibrant Punjab from the poison of drugs. CM Bhagwant Mann has emerged as a nation-building leader through this campaign.
MLA Kalsi also shared that the Punjab Government has made record-breaking arrests of drug traffickers, seized large drug consignments and drug money, and many addicts are now receiving treatment at government-run free de-addiction centers and returning to the mainstream — a positive sign for the state.
He further said that the Bhagwant Mann government will continue its fight against drugs until their complete elimination and that this menace is being tackled firmly with public support. He appealed to citizens to unite against drug abuse and report any drug-related activity directly to the police or on WhatsApp number 97791-00200. The Punjab Government is committed to providing a better environment for future generations, and it is also the public’s responsibility to actively support this cause.
