Jalandhar, 11 Sep 2025: Punjab Horticulture and Defence Services Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat on Wednesday directed revenue officials to ensure proper verification of claims of damaged houses due to incessant rains and floods, stressing that no affected family should be left without relief aid from the Punjab Government.
Chairing a meeting with officials at the District Administrative Complex, Mr. Bhagat instructed Patwaris to personally visit every applicant who has lodged claims of house damage and complete timely verification. He categorically warned that any laxity in this task would not be tolerated, as the government has already called for prompt relief in all such cases.
Reiterating Punjab Government’s commitment to flood-hit families, the Minister said that every possible effort was being made to support people during these trying times. He also appealed to Municipal Councillors to actively reach out to maximum affected households and assist them in filing complaints with the District Administration.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the District Planning Committee Amritpal Singh also directed Patwaris to ensure prompt verification of every damaged house, adding that Punjab Government has already announced compensation for affected families and none should be left out.
