Sangrur, 5 Aug 2025 : The district-level Independence Day function will be held at the Police Lines in Sangrur, where Punjab’s Minister for Industries and Commerce, Investment Promotion, and NRI Affairs, Shri Sanjeev Arora, will participate as the chief guest and perform the flag hoisting ceremony.
This information was shared by SDM S. Charanjot Singh Walia while presiding over a meeting at the District Administrative Complex with officials from various departments regarding the preparations for the district-level event. He instructed the officials to fulfill their duties with complete dedication.
S. Walia informed that after the flag hoisting ceremony, there will be an impressive march past by Punjab Police, Home Guards, and NCC cadets, followed by cultural programs. Individuals who have shown commendable performance in various fields will also be honored.
He directed the concerned officials to ensure cleanliness at the event site, arrange dustbins, prepare decorative gates, and make arrangements for medical teams, ambulances, clean drinking water, and necessary security.
S. Walia emphasized that occasions like Independence Day play a crucial role in inspiring patriotism among the younger generation by connecting them with the country’s glorious history. He said that the nation gained freedom after a long period of slavery due to the supreme sacrifices of great freedom fighters, and it’s everyone’s responsibility to remember and pay tribute to them with a sense of devotion and national pride.
