Monsoon Intensifies: Heavy Rain Alert Issued in 19 Punjab Districts

Punjab  10 July 2025 : A major update has emerged regarding the changing weather conditions in Punjab. The monsoon has gained strength in the state. Continuous rainfall over the past two days has led to a drop in temperatures across Punjab. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued an Orange Alert for Chandigarh and a Yellow Alert for Punjab today, Thursday.

There is a possibility of heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in many parts of Punjab. The weather department has issued a warning to the public to step out of their homes cautiously, as several districts may experience thunderstorms and heavy rain. A yellow alert has been issued for 14 districts in Punjab today. The department has advised people to remain alert and avoid going outside unless necessary, especially in areas prone to waterlogging.

According to the Meteorological Center in Chandigarh, a flash alert has been issued till 9:30 AM for Mansa, Barnala, Patiala, Mohali, Fatehgarh Sahib, Bathinda, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Faridkot, Tarn Taran, Fazilka, Chandigarh, Moga, Firozpur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, and Pathankot.

In addition, a yellow alert for rainfall has been issued today for Pathankot, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Ludhiana, Mohali, Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, and Sangrur. Weather in all other districts is expected to remain normal.

Looking ahead, the weather is expected to remain clear for the next five days, with no chances of rain. However, people might have to face humid and hot weather during this period.
