Faridkot, May 19, 2025 : As per the directions of the Executive Chairperson of the Punjab State Legal Services Authority, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali), a National Lok Adalat will be organized on May 24, 2025, under the leadership of Shri Virender Aggarwal, District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Faridkot. The Lok Adalat will be held at the District Courts Complex Faridkot and Sub-Division Jaito.
The District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, Faridkot, stated that under the motto “Resolve Disputes and Spread Harmony – Get Affordable and Speedy Justice through Lok Adalats,” the following types of compoundable and settlement-friendly cases will be taken up for resolution in the National Lok Adalat:
- Compoundable criminal cases
- Land acquisition matters
- Complaints/petitions in the Permanent Lok Adalat
- MACT (Motor Accident Claims Tribunal) claim petitions and execution matters
- Family disputes in Family Courts
- Labor disputes
- Traffic challans
- Mixed criminal cases
- FIRs registered under the Electricity Act
- Complaints under the N.I. Act (cheque bounce cases)
- Recovery suits
- Pre-litigation cases
- And other similar types of cases
He appealed to the general public to take maximum benefit of the schemes provided by the District Legal Services Authority, Faridkot, such as the Victim Compensation Scheme, Mediation Center, and the National Lok Adalat scheduled for May 24, 2025.
