Night Curfew Imposed in Punjab for 3 Months: 7 PM to 6 AM Restrictions

Gurdaspur, April 8, 2025 : The wheat harvesting season for the year 2025 is about to begin. It has become common to see combine harvesters operating 24 hours a day for wheat harvesting. These combines often harvest moist wheat during the night, resulting in a large amount of wet grain. When this moisture-laden wheat is brought to the markets for sale, procurement agencies refuse to purchase it because the moisture content exceeds the acceptable limit.

Additional District Magistrate of Gurdaspur, Dr. Harjinder Singh Bedi, has imposed a complete ban on wheat harvesting using combine machines between 7:00 PM and 6:00 AM within the boundaries of Gurdaspur district. This order will remain in effect until June 2, 2025.

Summary:
Punjab enforces a strict night curfew from 7 PM to 6 AM for the next three months, with official orders issued to ensure public safety and compliance.
