16 july 2026 (Navroze Bureau) : The National Medical Commission (NMC) has proposed stricter measures against medical colleges that do not have the required infrastructure and essential facilities in place. Under the proposed framework, institutions with incomplete infrastructure could be denied approval to admit students or begin new academic programmes.
The move aims to strengthen standards in medical education and ensure that students receive training in institutions equipped with adequate classrooms, laboratories, hospitals, faculty, and clinical facilities.
