Ludhiana, 11 June 2025: A major stir was witnessed in Punjab politics on Tuesday when Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal announced that Sanjeev Arora, the candidate for the by-election in the Western constituency, would be made a Cabinet Minister. Kejriwal, along with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, arrived in Haibowal and Barewal to address massive rallies in support of Sanjeev Arora.
Kejriwal stated that Sanjeev Arora is not a typical politician and has no personal interest in politics. Instead, he is a saintly individual who is always ready to help others, especially in the fields of health and education. In this context, Kejriwal mentioned how Arora once raised ₹12 crore for a child’s medical treatment. He further added that voting for the Congress candidate in this by-election would be of no use, as the candidate would neither have power nor funds to serve the people.
In contrast, Kejriwal emphasized that Sanjeev Arora has been actively solving public issues even before becoming an MLA, and his focus has always been more on serving the public than on campaigning.
Kejriwal also cited another example, saying that Sanjeev Arora made efforts to resolve the long-pending issue of property registration for residents falling under the ‘Lal Lakir’ category—an issue pending for 70 years—within just two months, which in itself is remarkable. He added that while others like Ashu insult the public, Sanjeev Arora carries love and respect for them. This is why people will elect him with a strong majority and make him a minister who will have no shortage of funds or power.
Summary: Amid growing unrest in Punjab politics, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal stirs the landscape with a significant and potentially game-changing announcement.
