PRTC Bus Heist Foiled: Suspect Arrested Within 48 Hours, Says SSP

Bathinda30 July 2025: SSP Madam Amneet Kondal informed that a case of PRTC bus theft came to light recently in Maur, under the district’s jurisdiction. Acting swiftly, the police completed the investigation within 48 hours and, based on suspicion, arrested Amaninder Singh alias Lambu, son of Balbir Singh, resident of Asa Patti, Maur Mandi (age 38 years).

Giving further details, SSP Amneet Kondal said that in connection with the PRTC bus theft case registered at Maur police station, investigation teams from Maur police station and CIA Staff-2 Bathinda were assigned. The teams examined CCTV footage and used other technical and human resources to carry forward the investigation.

She said that some keys (similar to PRTC bus keys) and a small knife were recovered from the possession of the accused. Bathinda Police is continuing further legal proceedings. She strongly appealed to the general public to immediately report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or by calling 112, so that law and order can be maintained in the city.
