Fazilka, April 16, 2025 : A red alert has been issued in Fazilka district. Under this alert, several areas across the district have been barricaded. Senior officials are supervising the checkpoints, where vehicles are being stopped and checked. Vehicles without proper documentation are also being fined. The police have stated that the district has been completely sealed.
Fazilka’s DSP Headquarters, Lovdeep Singh Gill, informed that, following the orders of the DIG Ferozepur Range and the SSP Fazilka, a red alert has been declared in the district. As a result, the areas of Fazilka, Jalalabad, and Abohar, which fall under Fazilka district, have been sealed, and barricades have been set up at various locations, with senior police officers leading the operations.
The DSP mentioned that barricades have been set up at around 10 to 12 locations in the city. Vehicles coming and going are being stopped and inspected. He further stated that, during this special operation, approximately 1,000 police officers and personnel are on the ground, inspecting cars and other vehicles. It has been reported that more than 300 vehicles have been checked so far, and several vehicles have been fined. The DSP appealed to the people of the area for their cooperation, emphasizing that the purpose of this operation is not to intimidate but to ensure their safety.
