Punjab Government Dedicated to Strengthening Education Sector: Harjot Bains

Kiratpur Sahib, 27 May 2025 : Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, while inaugurating completed development works in various government schools under the ‘Education Revolution’ campaign initiated by the state government, said that the Punjab government is fully committed and proactive in making education modern and progressive.

Today, the Education Minister inaugurated development works at Government Primary School Bhagwala, Government Middle School Bhagwala, Government Primary School Mahidli Khurd, Government Primary School Kahiwal, Government Primary School Samlah, and Government Senior Secondary School Samlah, and also reviewed ongoing projects. He said that due to the sincere efforts of the government, not only is the basic infrastructure of schools being strengthened, but significant improvements are also being made in the quality of education. Furthermore, teachers are being provided training at international institutions, resulting in Punjab emerging prominently on the educational map.

Highlighting that 12% of the total state budget has been allocated to the education sector, Harjot Singh Bains stated that the government is striving to strengthen education from all angles. He added that the government’s initiatives are bringing about the necessary transformation in the teaching system, and students are receiving quality education suited to the competitive demands of the modern era, preparing them to face challenges both in India and abroad. He also said that major improvements have been made in the infrastructure of government schools and that these efforts will continue in the future.

He mentioned that approximately ₹1.25 crore is being spent on the foundational development of Senior Secondary and Primary Schools in Samlah, marking the first time such significant reforms have been undertaken in the education sector. On this occasion, he congratulated the students, teachers, and parents, whose tireless efforts and trust have turned the campaign for educational revolution in Punjab into a beacon of light.

Present at the event were Ishan Chaudhary (BDPO), Sumeet Dhillon (Tehsildar), Subedar Rajpal Mohiwal (Block President), Daya Singh (Education Coordinator), Hitesh Sharma, Advocate Nishat Gupta (Coordinator, Anti-Drug Campaign), Principal Pawan Khurana, Sarpanch Pawna Kumari, Rampal (Block President), Gyan Chand, Raj Kumar, Balwinder Kaur, Rajpal, Radhe Shyam, Amarjeet Singh (all Panch members), Sham Lal (BDC), Gurbachan Lala, Chand Ram, Chand Fauji, Shamsher Singh (Youth Constituency Coordinator), Daler Singh (Sarpanch), Bhagat Ram (Sarpanch), Dev Singh, Mohan Lal, and many other distinguished attendees.
